In silk, felt, and embroidery, a large pillow sham in creme coloured silk with the central logo in red and black felt featuring a large panther biting a tank in half, surrounded by the motto SEEK STRIKE DESTROY, surrounded by the text TANK DESTROYERS along the top, curving along the emblem, and CAMP HOOD, TEX. along the bottom edge, the exterior edge features an embroidered yellow and green edge, the reverse bears a red silk cover with a slit along the bottom edge to allow for a pillow, measures 44 cm (w) x 46 cm (h), exhibiting multiple stains and creases, with areas of felt loss to the emblem, loss of fringe edges around the entire cover, remains in near very fine condition.
Footnote: Camp Hood was established on November 21, 1941 in Central Texas. When the United States entered the Second World War, this became the center for a Tank Destroyer Tactical and Firing Center would be established and run by General Andrew D. Bruce. Over 100,000 soldiers were trained at this location, and some 4,000 German prisoners of war were interned here. As of 2023, it is now known as Fort Cavazos.
