Description
(Nordstjärneorden). Instituted 1748 by King Frederick I. In silver gilt, a commander badge featuring a white enamel Maltese cross with ball finials and crowns in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features a white enamel star on a blue enamel yield with the inscription NESCIT OCCASUM, the reverse medallion mirrors the obverse, the cross is surmounted by a large crown with enamel details, measures 54.7 mm (w) x 80.2 mm (h), weighs 33.19 grams including ribbon, worn on a full length blue and yellow neck ribbon with thin ties at each end, enamels intact, a lovely star in better than extremely fine condition.
Contained in the original case of issue, a red leatherette exterior with gilt details, the interior with a silk lid and velvet medalbed, marked C.F Carlman STOCKHOLM in the lid, measures 90 mm (w) x 130 mm (h) x 32 mm (d), light wear to exterior, very fine. Accompanied by a small boutonniere of the order denoting Commander class.
