Spain, Kingdom. An Order of Isabella the Catholic, Grand Cross Star in Case

(A La Lealtad Acrisolada Por Isabel la Católica). Instituted in 1815. In silver gilt, cross in red enamel, each of the arms finished with two ball finials, rays in each quadrant, centrepiece ring shows FR cypher on a blue enamelled field surrounded by a laurel wreath and the inscription “A La Lealtad Acrisolada Por Isabel la Católica”, reverse bears a vertical pin and dual stays, measures 71.2 mm (w) x 70.9 mm, weighs 59.15 grams, enamels intact, remains in very fine condition.

Contained in original case, brown leather exterior with Spanish insignia on the lid, interior marked CEJALVO Y CARCIA MADRID, base in silk with pin slot, measures 100 mm (w) x 100 mm (h) x 33 mm (d), functional hinge and clasp, extremely fine.
