Spain, Kingdom. An Order Isabella the Catholic, Commander

(Orden de Isabel la Católica). Instituted in 1815. In silver gilt, a Maltese cross with red enamels arms on both sides, with five emanating rays between each arm of the cross and incorporating ball finials on all eight points of the arms of the cross, obverse center piece insignia with handpainted symbology on enamels, reverse centerpiece with blue and white enamels and bearing the monogram of Queen Isabella, the base surmounted by a wreath in silver with green enamels, unmarked, measuring 53.0 mm (w) x 81.9 mm (h -inclusive of its wreath suspension), accompanied by its full length original neck ribbon, enamel chips on the obverse 6 o’clock arm and reverse 3 o’clock arm, light gilt wear on edges and rays, remains in extremely fine condition.

Contained in the original case of issue, a red textured exterior, interior with red velvet base and silk lid marked Celadas MADRID, measures 114 mm (w) x 148 mm (h) x 35 mm (d), functional hinge and clasp, light wear, very fine.
