(Orden Imperial del Yugo y las Flechas) A gilt and enamel Knight’s medal, measuring 60.4 mm (w) x 75.2 mm (h) inclusive of suspension ring and weighing 24.7 grams, constructed in the form of a black enamelled cross pattee superimposed over a circular wreath, the obverse centre bearing the yoke and bundle of arrows motif in red enamel with a red enamel scroll inscribed “ARRIBA ESPAÑA,” the reverse plain gilt with visible rivet construction, suspended from a red and black striped ribbon, on a replacement ribbon and missing its original top suspension clasp, exhibiting slight tarnishing to the gilt finish and light surface wear consistent with age, in fine condition.
Footnote: The Imperial Order of the Yoke and Arrows (Orden Imperial del Yugo y las Flechas) was instituted in 1937 during the Spanish State period under General Francisco Franco. The order was awarded in multiple grades to recognize services rendered to the regime and incorporated the Falangist emblem of the yoke and arrows as its central device. The Knight grade was worn suspended from a ribbon and represented the foundational class within the order’s hierarchy.
