Spain, Fascist State. A Rare Gold City Council of the Town of San Fernando, Cadiz Province Award

(Ayuntamiento de la Villa de San Fernando, Provincia de Cádiz). In 18K Gold with light blue, white, green, red and black enamels, with thirteen natural diamonds (five on the crown and eight on the wreath), the crown also housing two synthetic rubies and three synthetic emeralds, weighing 73.4 grams inclusive of its ribbon, obverse illustrating the coat-of-arms of the Town of San Fernando, Cadiz Province (the town located in the south of Spain) and surmounted by the Franco crown, reverse with an oval-shaped cartouche inscribed "EXCMO. AYUNTAMIENTO DE SAN FERNANDO (CADIZ)", measuring 44.7 mm (w) x 91 mm (h) inclusive of its open-ended wreath suspension, some of the black enamels on the "UNION Y FUERZA 1810 1820" (Union and Strength) lettering on the ribbon banner having worn away, otherwise the enamels are intact, original ribbon suspended from a traditional Spanish-style hanger with pinback, the hanger also in Gold, extremely fine.
