An Order of the Red Star. Type II. Constructed of silver with enamels, consisting of a five-pointed star, the obverse with red enamelled arms, bearing a central medallion overlaid by a Red Army soldier in full uniform and clutching a rifle, surrounded by a border bearing a raised Russian Cyrillic inscription of “ПРОЛЕТАРИИ ВСЕХ СТРАН, СОЕДИНЯЙТЕСЬ!” (“WORKERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!”), joined together at the bottom by initials “СССР” (“USSR”), situated above a hammer and sickle the reverse with a central threaded lug retaining an original backplate, etched with an issue number “3311446” maker marked “МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР” for the State Mint, measuring 47.7 mm (w) x 45.3 mm (h), weighing 39.87 grams, small enamel chip to the 4 o’clock arm, in extremely fine condition.
A Medal for Combat Service. Type II. In silver, with enamels, the obverse featuring crossed sword and rifle with inscription За боевые заслуги CCCP (FOR COMBAT SERVICE), measures 32.3 mm (w) x 37.3 mm (h), worn on original ribbon, light wear, enamels intact, in very fine condition.
Accompanied by the Award Card, denoting recipient as Alexander Sergeevich, matching award number 3311446, dated 1955, pages have numerous marker marks, fine condition. This booklet also denotes the conferral of a Medal for Combat Service in 1954.
