In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
A silver gilt pilot’s qualification badge measuring 89.9 mm (w) x 24.1 mm (h), constructed in the form of outstretched wings flanking a central circular sun motif medallion in orange enamel, surmounted by a spread eagle in relief, the reverse fitted with a horizontal pinback assembly and stamped “TOYE SILVER,” the details sharply defined with light surface wear consistent with age, in fine to very fine condition.
Footnote:
Pilot’s wings of this pattern were worn by qualified aviators of the Royal Netherlands Navy and associated air services during the Second World War period. Following the German occupation of the Netherlands in 1940, Dutch military personnel continued operations in exile, with insignia production often contracted to British firms. The maker’s mark “Toye Silver” refers to Toye & Co., a London-based insignia manufacturer known for producing military badges and regalia during the wartime era.
