Germany, Wehrmacht. A Silver Grade Wound Badge, with Case, by Klein & Quenzer

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber mit Etui). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, the obverse with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the revere with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “65” for Klein & Quenzer, Idar-Oberstein, measuring 36.57 mm (w) x 43.94 mm (h), weighing 30.6 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of two pieces of card stock with a faux maroon leather exterior liner the interior with a slotted red felt medal bed, unmarked, measuring 66 mm (w) x 66 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), demonstrating minor loss of finish and material fatigue to the reverse of the badge and the case, respectively, a well-preserved zink example in extremely fine condition.
