Germany, Wehrmacht. A Silver Grade Wound Badge, with Case, by Carl Wild

(Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber mit Etui). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “107” for Carl Wild, Hamburg, measuring 36.86 mm (w) x 44.28 mm (h), weighing 25.3 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a card stock frame with a faux dark maroon leather liner, the interior with a slotted maroon felt medal bed, unmarked, measuring 65 mm (w) x 65 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), an exceptionally well-preserved zink example retaining the vast majority of its original finish, in extremely fine condition.
