Description

(Wehrmacht Ringkragen für Feldgendarmerie). Constructed of silvered magnetic iron sheet metal, the obverse bearing a central raised Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, situated above a patinated and pebbled banner bearing a raised inscription of “FELDGENDARMERIE” (Field Police), with the upper corners fastened with pebbled buttons, notably with all of these features retaining original intact luminous paint, the reverse retaining an intact field-grey wool liner, the reverse retaining two stabilizing clips and an addition loop featuring an original full-length magnetic neck chain, the central stabilizing clip maker marked with the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 17 cm (w) x 11 cm (h), demonstrating minor and sporadic loss of finish to the metal with slight soiling and fatigue to the wool liner, a rare gorget in near extremely fine condition.
