Germany, Third Reich. A Sudetenland Medal, with Case

(Die Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1. Oktober 1938 mit Etui). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.07 mm in diameter, weighing 14.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux maroon leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and partially-intact hinge cover, with a slotted maroon felt medal bed, closing with a metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 50 mm (w) x 100 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), demonstrating some fatigue to the case which has rendered the catch non-functional, in better than very fine condition.
