Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Insignia and Decorations

(Insignien und Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of items, including:

1. An Ordnungspolizei cap insignia, constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse retaining two of three attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 55 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), demonstrating significant loss of silvered finish and evidence of re-attachment of the remaining prongs, in very fine condition.

2. A second Ordnungspolizei cap insignia, constructed of aluminum, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse retaining both attachment prongs, maker marked with the logo of Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid, measuring 55 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in near mint condition.

3. An Honour Cross of the German Mother, Gold Grade, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension, consisting of a Latin Cross with its arms joined through the quadrants by stylized rays, the obverse with blue and white enameled arms, the reverse bearing an etched institution date of “16. DEZEMBER 1938” and a signature of the Führer, unmarked, measuring 36 mm (w) x 46 mm (h), demonstrating deliberate erasure of the obverse swastika to permit postwar wear, in addition to loss of gilt finish throughout the base metal, in fair condition.

4. An AH patriotic badge, constructed of magnetic metal, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 35 mm in diameter, demonstrating loss of finish to the base metal, in very fine condition.
