(Auszeichnungen und Insignien). A mixed lot of awards and insignia, including:
1. An Honour Cross of the German Mother, Gold Grade, constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Latin Cross with its arms joined through the quadrants by stylized rays, the obverse with blue and white enameled arms, bearing a central white enameled disc overlaid by a black swastika, circumscribed by a raised inscription of “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER” (“TO THE GERMAN MOTHER”), the reverse bearing an etched institution date of “16. DEZEMBER 1938” and a signature of the Führer, unmarked, measuring 35.49 mm (w) x 46.36 mm (h), weighing 14.3 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux dark blue leather liner, the lid bearing a gilt depiction of the award, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and slotted white felt medal bed, the former marked marked “C.E. JUNCKER, BERLIN”, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, measuring 50 mm (w) x 110 mm (l) x 22 mm (h), demonstrating some loss of finish to the cross, in near extremely fine condition.
2. A Sturmabteilung (SA) Sports Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, surrounding a central mobile swastika overlaid by a sword, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “PETZ U. LORENZ I. REICHENBACH”, measuring 42.96 mm (w) x 55.50 mm (h), weighing 18.4 grams, demonstrating minor loss of finish throughout, a Type 3 badge in better than very fine condition.
