Germany, Ordnungspolizei. A Schutzpolizei Ammunition Cartouche, by Albert Fischer

A well-preserved Schutzpolizei ammunition cartouche, constructed of multiple panels of pressed blackened leather, the exterior featuring an overhanging lid and flap, with a strap emanating from the reverse and fitting through an aluminum stud firmly sit into the bottom edge for secure closure, the lid bearing an aluminum Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of a semi-circular oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the interior bearing a maker’s mark of “A. FISCHER, BERLIN” for the firm of Albert Fischer (one of the two noted manufacturers of Third Reich police leather accouterments), alongside a manufacturer date of “1937”, measuring 16 cm (w) x 11 cm (h), demonstrating age-appropriate fatigue and desiccation to the leather which renders opening of the lid flap difficult and the connection fragile, a complete example in better than very fine condition.
