Description

(NSDAP Ringkragen für Fahnenträger). Constructed of a bronzed aluminum alloy, the obverse bearing a raised NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, situated within an oak leaf border, the reverse featuring a thick dark green wool liner, topped at the corners by brass clips retaining an original neck chain, with links bearing alternating raised NSDAP eagles and wreathed swastikas, with both gorget clips and two chain links bearing Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logos and maker codes of “M1/14” for Matthias Oechsler & Söhne, Ansbach, the gorget measuring 22 cm (w) x 15 cm (h), demonstrating minor loss finish throughout the base metal with some consequent surface oxidation, in addition to mothing or deterioration of the liner underneath the chain clips, a rare gorget with an original and matching chain in better than very fine condition.
