Germany, Luftwaffe. A Mixed Lot of Badges, Insignia, and Accessories

(Luftwaffe Abzeichen, Insignien, und Zubehör). A mixed lot of Luftwaffe badges, insignia, and accessories, including:

1 A Pilot and Observer Badge, cloth version, constructed of dark grey wool, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered golden-yellow oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a swooping silver-grey Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 80 mm (w) x 65 mm (h), in unissued and near mint condition.

2. An Enlisted ranks first pattern breast eagle, constructed of dark blue rayon, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered, silver-grey, droptail-style Luftwaffe eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, executed on a layer of black rayon threading which highlights the eagle’s feathering and details, unmarked, measuring 95 mm (w) x 56 mm (h), in unissued and extremely fine condition.

3. A sports shirt emblem, constructed of white cotton, the obverse bearing an additional white cotton triangle with a black underlay, overlaid by a machine-embroidered black Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 28.5 cm (w) x 15 cm (h), in unissued and extremely fine condition.

4. A set of Officer’s cape clasp emblems, constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse of each bearing raised eagle head, the reverse of both retaining four prongs for backplate attachment, with a hook emanating from the edge of the left clasp to meet an analogous loop which emanates from the right clasp, both unmarked and measuring 40 mm in diameter, missing their backplates and chain, in very fine condition.

5. A set of shoelaces, constructed of white cotton, secured together with an original Luftwaffe depot tag bearing an eagle flanked by a code of “WL40”, demonstrating age-appropriate discolouration, in unissued and near extremely fine condition.
