Germany, Luftwaffe. A German Cross in Gold, Cloth Version, Modified for Postwar Wear

(Luftwaffe Deutsches Kreuz in Gold, Stoffausführung). An unusual German Cross in Gold, cloth version, constructed of a dark grey wool twill base indicating Luftwaffe issue, bearing a central eight-pointed starburst pattern executed in silver-grey threading and silver aluminum wire, bearing a central black threaded void surrounded by dual circular red threaded rings with an additional silver aluminum wire outer border, the reverse retaining a black paper liner, unmarked, measuring 72 mm in maximum diameter, the swastika and gilded ring have been removed from the obverse in a likely attempt to accommodate postwar wear, an interesting example in fair condition.
