Germany, Kriegsmarine. A 3. Schnellboot-Flottille Commemorative Plaque

(3. Schnellboot-Flottille Erinnerungsplakette). A well-preserved 3. Schnellboot-Flottille (3rd Fast Boat Flotilla) commemorative plaque, constructed of aluminum, the obverse bearing a map of Europe and North Africa, with land presented in light brown, oceans in light blue, and with silver borders demarcating the two, overlaid by an S-Boat cutting through waves superimposed over Europe, in turn defaced by a palm tree which emanates from the African coat and is in turn flanked by a 1939 Iron Cross, topped by a golden-yellow Kreigsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, riveted to a lacquered dark brown wood base, the reverse topped by a magnetic metal suspension ring, unmarked, measuring 13.5 cm (w) x 19.5 cm (h), demonstrating some discolouration to the paint and loosening of the plaque from its base, in overall better than very fine condition.
