(Ordensschnalle). A medal bar for a Bavarian First World War combatant who rendered subsequent police service, including:
1. A Bavarian Military Merit Cross, III Class with Swords, constructed of coppered bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Ludwig II, situated within a stylized belt and buckle bearing an inscription of “MERENTI” (“MERIT”) with arabesques, the twelve o’clock arm riveted with a crossed sword clasp, the reverse bearing a central raised Bavarian lion rampant, situated within a stylized belt and buckle bearing an institution date of “1866” with arabesques, without visible marks, measuring 41.82 mm (w) x 49.20 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
2. An Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 for Combatants, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse bearing a central wreathed date of “1914-1918”, the reverse maker marked with the logo of L. Christian Lauer, Nuremberg, measuring 37.47 mm (w) x 42.23 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
3. A Bavarian Long Service Award, III Class for 12 Years, constructed of neusilber, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 33.05 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.
4. An Ordnungspolizei Long Service Award, III Class for 8 Years, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Ordnungspolizei insignia in the form of an oval oak leaf wreath overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised number “8”, circumscribed by an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER POLIZEI” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE POLICE”), unmarked, measuring 38.10 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
All suspended from a 95 mm-long bar with a bronze core, horizontal pinback, and red wool reverse liner, in extremely fine condition.
