In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(HJ Fahrtenmesser). An extremely well-preserved HJ member’s knife, measuring 25 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 14 cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade which retains factory-original sharpening to both the tip and lower edge. Acid-etched onto the obverse of the blade is an inscription of “BLUT UND EHRE!” (“BLOOD AND HONOUR!”) in cursive script. The reverse is marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo, alongside a maker’s code of “M7/67/38” indicating manufacture by Gottlieb Hammesfahr, Solingen, in 1938 (immediately prior to the cessation of the addition of blade mottos). It sits securely within a nickel-plated magnetic steel hilt with a hooked quillon and pommel, with an intact blackened leather buffer pad covering the seam. Two pieces of pebbled black bakelite compose the handle grip, fastened in place with dual aluminum rivets, while an enameled HJ insignia is set into the obverse of the handle and measures 15 mm (w) x 25 mm (l). Accompanying the knife is its original scabbard, constructed of a black painted magnetic metal shaft. Riveted to the back is a blackened leather strap which retains a functional metal snap button. A functional catch situated within the throat firmly holds the knife in place during storage. Minor issues consistent with age are evident, and include some running marks to the blade, but the knife demonstrates no notable damage or wear and remains in an extremely fine condition.
