In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Schiffchen M42). A well-preserved Heer EM/NCO’s M42 overseas cap, constructed of field-grey wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels, scalloped toward the front, which provide optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. When not in use, the walls roll up and are secured in place at the front with two pebbled magnetic metal buttons which emanate from the right flap and meet an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left flap. The crown is flanked by ventilation holes which are reinforced with zink grommets. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a field-grey rayon backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, situated above a tri-colour cockade, measuring 50 mm (w) x 40 mm (h) overall. The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece olive-drab cotton twill liner. Stamped onto the crown is a maker’s mark of “LAGO MÜTZEN MÜNCHEN”, indicating production by a member of a Munich manufacturing collective, with a size mark of “58”, and a date of “1942”. It measures approximately 29.5 cm (w) x 10 cm (h) when folded on a flat surface. Demonstrating only minor material fatigue (including a small patch of mothing to the right wall), it remains in a near extremely fine condition.
