In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Schirmmütze für einen Offizier der Wehrmachtsbeamten). A well-preserved Heer Administrative Officer’s visor cap, constructed of field-grey wool with a pronounced whipcord weave. It features reinforced side walls lined on the exterior with a dark grey wool cap band. Both the top and bottom edges of the band are trimmed with green piping, while an additional length of identical piping surrounds the outer edge of the crown. Pinned onto the peak is an aluminum alloy insignia in the form of a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 65 mm (w) x 25 mm (h). Directly below the eagle, the centre of the cap band is pinned with a multi-piece aluminum oak leaf wreath and cockade measuring 65 mm (w) x 40 mm (h). The lower edge of the cap band is flanked by pebbled aluminum buttons which accommodate a chinstrap constructed of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire. A protruding vulcanfibre visor completes the exterior features, and is finished in black on the obverse and in brown on the reverse. A multi-piece brown rayon liner encompasses the interior, while a wide brown leather sweatband surrounds the walls. The latter folds down to reveal a maker’s mark for Landes-Lieferungs-Genossenschaft Mitteldeutschland, a consortium of headgear manufacturers based in central Germany, with a manufacture date of “1939”. The cap measures approximately 23 cm (w) x 26 cm (l) x 15.5 cm (h). Issues consistent with age and period wear are evident, and include minor and sporadic fatigue throughout the exterior material, some distortion of the walls, moderate soiling of the interior, and the loss of the crown’s moisture guard. The cap remains in a very fine condition.
