Austria, Imperial. A War Cross for Civil Merit, II Class in Case

(Kreigskreuz für Zivilverdienste). Instituted August 16, 1915. In silver gilt, a white enamelled cross featuring a wreath sitting on the 12 and 6 o’clock arms (under the 3 and 9 o’clock arms, the central medallion bears the letters FJI, the reverse offers a vertical pin, marked on pin with CM makers mark, A (denoting Vienna manufacture), and a Diana’s Head 2 A mark on the base (denoting .900 silver fineness and Vienna from 1872-1922), measures 45.2 mm (w) x 45.6 mm (h), minor chip on the 6 o’clock arm, minimal gilt wear, very fine. 

In its hardshelled case of issue, red pebbled exterior, inside lid in white cloth and padded, off-white felt medal bed, measuring 72 mm (w) x 72 mm (h) x 25 mm (d), minor wear on the exterior, slight discolouration in the medal bed, case very fine.
