(Tapferkeitsmedaille). Instituted July 19th, 1789. (1914-1916 Issue). A Bravery Medal I Class, a round silver medal, the obverse depicting a rightward-facing effigy of Kaiser Franz Joseph of Austria, the reverse inscribed “Der Tapferkeit” (For Bravery) within a laurel wreath with banners at the base, measuring 40 mm in diameter, worn on original ribbon with single repetition bar, contact marks throughout, in overall very fine condition.

Two Bravery Medals, II Class, a round silver medal, the obverse depicting a rightward-facing effigy of Kaiser Franz Joseph of Austria, the reverse inscribed “Der Tapferkeit” (For Bravery) within a laurel wreath with banners at the base, measuring 31 mm in diameter, both worn on original ribbons of which one has a single repetition bar, contact marks throughout, in overall very fine condition.
