Austrian-made, dagger with a nickel-plated steel blade, magnetic, with sharp edges and a very sharp tip, with a red felt washer at the base of blade, exhibiting marks common to extraction from the scabbard along with surface wear and measuring 262 mm in length, the blade rating fine. The crossguard, handle and pommel are in bronze gilt, all of which incorporate a series of ornate swirls, leafing and shell designs, the centre portion on both sides of the handle bearing a Royal monogram interlaced with an anchor and surmounted by the Austrian crown, the reverse of the crossguard with a push release for the scabbard, the crossguard with bulb-shaped ends with raised points, the pommel exhibiting a large shell-like design on both sides and finished with a bulb-shaped design, the monogram exhibiting an oxidation mark on the obverse. The accompanying scabbard is in bronze gilt, the body bearing a series of ornate swirls and leafing patterns in two locations, with two bands affixed, the edge of which are reeded on both and incorporate large rings, the chape finished with a bulb-shaped design, the scabbard measuring 317 mm in length, exhibiting scattered gilt wear but is free of dents.
