Includes:

1. Crimea Medal (AKA Krim Medal) (Kirim Madalyasi). Instituted in 1854. Sardinia "LA CRIMEA" Issue. In silver, measuring 37 mm in diameter, edge nicks, replacement ribbon.

2. Medal for Merit, II Class Silver Grade (Liyakat Madalyasi). Instituted in 1890. In silver, measuring 24.7 mm in diameter, exhibiting spotting, original ribbon suspended from a hanger with dual prong pinback.

Together, better than very fine.

1. The Crimea Medal (AKA Krim Medal) was instituted in 1854 and awarded to the military personnel who fought and defeated the Russian army in Crimea. The recipients were Ottoman, British, French and Piemonte soldiers. It was issued in three versions: "CRIMEA" (British Issue), "LA CRIMEE" (French Issue) and "LA CRIMEA" (Sardinia Issue).

2. The Medal for Merit was an all-purpose medal, instituted in 1890 and awarded for loyalty and heroism, as well as for various accomplishments. A military version bears the familiar double swords. The medal could be inherited and upon official approval, worn by the recipient's heirs. It was accompanied by a document of registration.
