Netherlands, Kingdom. A Red Cross of Merit, for Ladies, in Case

 (Kruis van Verdienste van Nederlandsche Roode Kruis). Instituted in 1914. In silver gilt with red, white and green enamels, measuring 40 mm (w) x 64.3 mm (h inclusive of its crown and laterally-pierced ball suspension), chipping evident in the red enamels on the cross on the obverse centrepiece, exhibiting lacquer repair due to flaking in the red enamels on the reverse centrepiece, original bow-tied ribbon with safety pin attachment, very fine. 

Contained in case, red leatherette exterior, silk lid and velvet base, measures 130 mm (w) x 110 mm (l) x 25 mm (d), light scuffing to corners, unmarked, hinge and clasp functional, very fine.
