A Commemorative Medal for the Campaigns of the Wars of Independence, constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of King Vittoria Emanuele II, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a raised female personification of Italy, wielding a spear and shield overlaid by the Savoy coat of arms, circumscribed by an inscription of "GUERRE PER L'INDIPENDENZA E L'UNITÀ D'ITALIA" (“WARS FOR THE INDEPENDENCE AND UNITY OF ITALY”), unmarked, measuring 31.86 mm in diameter, weighing 12.4 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating evidence of cleaning and polishing, in near extremely fine condition.
2. A Medal for Italian Unification in Silver, constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of King Umberto I, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of “UNITÀ D’ITALIA 1848-1870” (“UNITY OF ITALY 1848-1870”), the obverse engraver marked "SPERANZA" for Filippo Speranza, measuring 31.58 mm in diameter, weighing 17.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating a consistent patina throughout with some edge bruising, in near extremely fine condition.
