(Verwundetenabzeichen mit Verleihungsurkunden). A pair of estate-found Wound Badges with matching award documents, including:
1. A Black Grade award, constructed of blackened brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a clip hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened and angular catch, unmarked, measuring 36.63 mm (w) x 44.12 mm (h), weighing 13.2 grams, accompanied by its award document, named to Obergefreiter Kurt Gärtner, 14. Kompanie, Grenadier-Regiment 6, awarded on 6 September 1944 for a single wound suffered on 11 June of that year, certified by the handwritten signature of Major Henning Hoffmeister (Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, 30 September 1944), measuring 14 cm (w) x 20 cm (h), the badge demonstrates some loss of finish and surface oxidation, while fatigue and creasing is visible to the document, in overall very fine condition.
2. A Silver Grade award, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “127” for Moritz Hausch, Pforzheim, measuring 36.70 mm (w) x 44.45 mm (h), weighing 24.7 grams, accompanied by its award document, named to Gärtner as an Unteroffizier of the same unit, awarded on 28 February 1945 for three wounds suffered between 13 June 1944 and 27 January 1945, issued from the Rhine district and certified by the handwritten signature of a Stabsarzt, measuring 14 cm (w) x 20 cm (h), the badge demonstrates loss of finish throughout, while fatigue and creasing is visible to the document, in overall very fine condition.
