Germany, Luftwaffe. A Fallschirmjäger Badge, by C.E. Juncker

(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the eagle in position, with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch emanating from a circular plate, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a Type H badge produced by C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 43.05 mm (w) x 53.60 mm (h), weighing 35.2 grams, demonstrating total loss of finish to the badge metal, replacement of the pinback with a mis-matched variant, and re-attachment of the catch, a refurbished example in very fine condition.
