Germany, Kriegsmarine. An Auxiliary Cruiser War Badge, Refurbished Example, by C.E. Juncker

(Kriegsabzeichen für Hilfskreuzer). Constructed of gilded and silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, topped by a Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a mobile swastika, surrounding a central silvered depiction of the Northern Hemisphere topped by a Viking longship cutting through waves, the reverse with a single visible rivet securing the globe in position, with a block hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 44.30 mm (w) x 56.78 mm (h), weighing 35.1 grams, demonstrating restoration of the gilt and silver finish with possible modification of the reverse rivet and hinge pin, in very fine condition.
