In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
A Fine Unterseeboot flottille/U-Boat Flotilla Wegener Mützenband/cap tally; consisting of three sewn-together pieces; constructed of golden embroidery on a black rayon backer; measuring 1300mm x 33mm; mint condition.
Footnote: The 7th U-boat Flotilla, also known as the Wegener Flotilla was the 7th operational U-Boot combat unit of the Kriegsmarine. It was founded on June 25th, 1938 and named after Kapitänleutnant Berd Wegener, who operated during the First War as a U-Boat commander until his U-27 was sunk by British Q-ship HMS Baralong; a war crime in itself. Q-Ships, also known as Decoy Ships served to appear to submarines as unarmed auxiliary or transport vessels. In truth, Q-ships were heavily armed and served to lure submarines onto the water surface, where they were most vulnerable. One of the Wegener submarines, U-47, is famous for sinking the British battleship HMS Royal Oak in October 1939.
