A Full Length Torpedoboot Albatros Cap Tally

This is a well preserved Torpedoboat Albatros Mützenband/cap tally; constructed of golden embroidery on a black rayon backer; measuring 1393 mm x 32 mm; soiled from use but overall near very fine condition.

Footnote: The Albatros entered service in the Reichsmarine on May 15, 1928. During the Second War, the Albatros served as part of the 5th Torpedo Boat Flotilla as of September 3, 1939 during the North Sea operations. During battle near Oslo, the Albatros sank the Norwegian Pol III on April 9, 1940, rendering the enemy boat unmanouverable. The next day Norwegian coastal batteries bombarded the Albatros at Bolaerne in Oslofjord, causing her to accidentally run aground, where she broke into two pieces. She is not located at 59 ° 5 '40 "N, 10 ° 47' 30" O at a depth of 40 meters.
