Germany, Imperial. A Mounted Danzig Civil “Gastronomy and Hotel Management” Table Medal

A round table medal, constructed of silvered coupal and mounted onto a wooden plaque, the obverse depicting the Danzig Coat of Arms topped by the inscription “Für Hervorragende Leistungen” (For Outstanding Achievement) in capital lettering and “Nec Temere Nec Timide” (Neither random nor timidly) in capital letters, the reverse is not visible but inscribed “Ausstellung für Kochkunst, Volksernährung, Armeeverpflegung, Hotel und Gastwirstschaftswesen Danzing 1905” (Awarded for culinary arts, feeding of the Volk, army provisions, and Hotel management and gastronomics) in capital lettering, the medal measuring 49 mm in diameter mounted on a 107 mm (w) x 139 mm (l) wooden plaque, with some wear to the silver finish but with the majority remaining, in very fine condition.
