(Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of awards, including:
1. A Hamburg Hanseatic Cross, constructed of silvered copper with enamels, on loop for suspension from a period replacement ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with red enameled arms, overlaid by a central red enameled medallion bearing a silvered Hamburg coat of arms, the reverse bearing a central inscription of “FÜRVERDIENST IM KRIEGE 1914” (“FOR MERIT IN WAR 19141”), unmarked, measuring 39.81 mm (w) x 43.17 mm (h), weighing 19.4 grams, demonstrating some loss of finish to the base metal, in addition to replacement of the suspension ring, in better than very fine condition.
2. A Prussian State Railway 25-Year Long Service Award, constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of a semi-circular laurel wreath joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a winged and ground wheel, and surrounding a plaque bearing a number “25”, the reverse with a block hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “JOH. WAGNER & SOHN, BERLIN” with a crown and crescent indicating German manufacture, and a silver content mark of “800”, measuring 53.10 mm (w) x 43.15 mm (h), weighing 10.3 grams, in extremely fine condition.
3. A Berg-Gladbach Warrior Association medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension, unmarked, measuring 26.21 mm in diameter, weighing 8.9 grams, in very fine condition.
4. A Silesian Eagle, II Class, constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse consisting of a Silesian-style German national eagle with details and feathering highlighted in silver, overlaid by a Brustmond, and clutching a banner in its talons bearing an inscription of “FÜR SCHLESIEN” (“FOR SILESIA”), unmarked, measuring 32.14 mm (w) x 46.86 mm (h), weighing 19.8 grams, demonstrating some flecking to the enamels with moderate loss of finish throughout the base metal, a privately-purchased example in better than very fine condition.
5. An Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 for Non-Combatants, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse bearing central wreathed dates “1914-1918”, the reverse maker marked with the logo of Werner Redo, Saarlautern, measuring 37.56 mm (w) x 42.68 mm (h), weighing 13.6 grams, in extremely fine condition.
