In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
A French Army M1916 fighting knife, measuring 29.5 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 17 cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel knife which retains factory-original sharpening to the edges and tip. The reverse ricasso is maker marked with the “GONON” logo of Gonon-Chasengue et Fils, Thiers. The blade emanates from a wide magnetic metal crossguard and lacquered wooden handle. Accompanying the knife is its original scabbard, constructed of an olive-drab painted magnetic metal shaft. A wide loop set into the side of the shaft accommodates a hanger, while the throat retains a functional catch to hold the knife in place during storage. Issues consistent with age and field use are evident, and include running marks to the blade with extensive oil buildup, as well as repainting of the scabbard shaft. This battle-worn knife remains in a very fine condition.
