France, III & IV Republics. A Lot Of Four Awards & Decorations

Two Third Republic awards:

1. Order of the Legion of Honour, Knight (Ordre de la Légion d'Honneur, Chevalier). Instituted in 1802 (in silver with red, white, blue and green enamels, Gold centrepieces, hallmarked with a boar's head in the tassels on the obverse, measuring 40.2 mm (w) x 59 mm (h) inclusive of its wreath and laterally-pierced ball suspension, chipping evident in the white and green enamels on the arms and wreath on both sides, original ribbon);

2. Medal of Honour for Agriculture, II Class Silver Grade (Médaille d'honneur Agricole). Instituted in 1890 (in silver, marked "ARGENT" (silver) flanked by dual cornucopias on the edge, engraver marked "A. Borrel" on the reverse, measuring 28.2 mm in diameter, original ribbon with safety pin attachment);

two Fourth Republic awards:

3. Military Medal (Médaille Militar). Instituted in 1852 (in silvered bronze with blue enamels, uniface trophy-of-arms suspension in bronze gilt, measuring 27.7 mm (w) x 46.5 mm (h) inclusive of its trophy-of-arms suspension, intact enamels, original ribbon with dual prong pinback);

4. Medal of Honour for Labour of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, I Class Gold Grade 1959 (Médaille d'Honneur du Travail du Ministère du Travail et de la Sécurité Sociale). Instituted in 1886 (in bronze gilt, engraver marked "A. Borrel" on both sides, name engraved "L. BOISSERIE 1959" and marked with a "1" flanked by dual cornucopias on the reverse, measuring 27 mm in diameter, large rosette on its original ribbon).
