A Hoffmann Corps Carpathain Mountains Cap Badge, c.1915; Constructed of zink; vertical pinback; unmarked; measuring 30 mm (w) x 40 mm (h); in overall fine condition. Austria, Empire. An Unknown Austrian Imperial Regimental Cap Badge; Constructed in zink; horizontal pinback; unmarked; measuring 37 mm (w) x 33 mm (h); in overall very fine condition. Austria, Empire. A Coastal Protection Corps Cap Badge, c.1917; Constructed of copper-washed war alloy; with its dual prongs fully preserved on the reverse; maker marked “Alexander Pock, Wien” on the reverse; measuring 22 mm (w) x 36 mm (h); in overall better than very fine condition. Hungarian patriotic badge, vertical pinback (missing), unmarked, measuring 36 mm (w) x 55 mm (h), in poor condition; Kiribaba campaign badge, constructed of zink, vertical pinback, the obverse maker marked “Arkanzas”, measuring 24 mm (w) x 44 mm (h), in near very fine condition . General von Falkenhayn Romanian campaign badge, constructed of bronzed zink, vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring, 28 mm (w) x 42 mm (h), in near very fine condition.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society. His knowledge and passion for history and awards is evident in this meticulously compiled collection that is now available in its entirety for the first time exclusively on eMedals.com.
