Germany, Luftwaffe. A Fallschirmjäger Badge, Type A, Refurbished Example by Imme & Sohn

(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of nickel-silver with gilt, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the eagle in position, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “IMME & SOHN, BERLIN”, measuring 41.63 mm (w) x 52.35 mm (h), weighing 37.1 grams, the swastika has been expertly restored after previous removal to facilitate post-war wear, a fletched and flawless wing Type A variant, in refurbished and very fine condition.
