Hungary, People’s Republic. An Order of the Flag of the Hungarian People’s Republic, I Class with Rubies

 (A Magyar Népköztársaság Zászlórendjének). Instituted 1956. (1956-1991 issue). Constructed of a gilded silver alloy with multi-coloured enamels, obverse consisting of a multi-pointed starburst with ribbed and pebbled rays, bearing a central circular laurel wreath featuring 10 small rubies, surrounding a Hungarian national flag, the reverse with four visible blasted rivets securing the obverse insignia in position, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a rounded catch, unmarked, measuring 81.3 mm (w) x 79.1 mm (h), weighing 73.18 grams, enamels intact, central flag is slightly loose and shifts, damage to the 6 o’clock ray, remains in near extremely fine condition.
