Germany, Wehrmacht. A Pair of Service Boots for Officer Ranks

(Wehrmacht Paar Stiefel für Offiziere). A matching and well-preserved pair of Wehrmacht service boots for Officer ranks, each constructed of multiple panels of blackened leather which remain rigid but supple, featuring reinforced soles and raised heels constructed of multiple panels of pressed leather with both large and small hobnails, the interior of each boot featuring dual black cotton twill bootstraps, with an additional leather panel perforated with a buttonhole, the soles stamped with unknown marks (possibly indicative of a manufacture date of 1930, indicated Reichswehr manufacture re-purposed for Wehrmacht use), while the interior of each boot is also stamped with a size mark of “56 ½” with an illegible unit attribution, demonstrating minor and age-appropriate material fatigue, with evidence of moderate wartime wear, in better than very fine condition.
