In bronze, obverse illustrating the right-facing bust of Holy Roman Empress/Queen/Archduchess Maria Theresia, inscribed "MARIA THERESIA" above and engraver marked "F. WÜRT F." below the bust, reverse illustrating the Maria Theresia Monument in Wiener Neustadt, surrounded by the inscription "DER GRÜNDERIN DER MILITÄR - AKADEMIE . DANKBARE ZÖGLINGE / 1862" and engraver marked "LEISEK F." below the statue, measuring 60.8 mm in diameter, bruised, traces of oxidation and nicks on the edge, spotting, better than very fine.

1. The Theresian Military Academy is the only training facility for military officers of the Austrian Armed Forces. It is located in the castle in Wiener Neustadt (Lower Austria) and was founded under Empress Maria Theresa on December 14, 1751 with the mandate "Make me capable officers and righteous men out of it" to the first commandant Field Marshal Leopold Joseph von Daun and is thus the oldest active military academy in the World.
2. Maria Theresa Walburga Amalia Christina (May 13, 1717 - November 29, 1780) was the only female ruler of the Habsburg dominions, ruling from 1740 until her death in 1780. She was the sovereign of Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Bohemia, Transylvania, Mantua, Milan, Lodomeria and Galicia, the Austrian Netherlands, and Parma. By marriage, she was Duchess of Lorraine, Grand Duchess of Tuscany and Holy Roman Empress.
