A First War Medal Pair to the Royal Scots; Battle of the Somme - British War Medal (17130 CPL. D.T. KINNEAR. R. SCOTS.); and Victory Medal (17130 CPL. D.T. KINNEAR. R. SCOTS.). Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, original ribbons, dark patina on the BWM, light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: David Tait Kinnear was the son of William Tait Kinnear and Janet Agnes Kinnear, of "Walden," Linksfield St., Leven, Fife. Corporal Kinnear was with the 15th Battalion, Royal Scots when he died on August 4, 1916, during the Battle of the Somme, at the age of 27 and is remembered with honour on the Thiepval Memorial, Panel: Pier and Face 6 D and 7, Somme, France, one of 72,192 casualties acknowledged on the memorial.
