Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration to the Victoria Rifles - Victoria (LIEUT. COLONEL F.C. HENSHAW SPECIAL LIST). Naming is officially engraved in capitals, accompanied by the inscription "Presented by Major General The Earl of Dundonald at the Luncheon given to the Honourable Artillery Company of London and Boston, Windsor Hotel, Montreal, Oct 12, 1903." in italic script, maker marked "SG" (Sebastian Gerrard), hallmarked with a British lion, a leopard's head (made in London) and date marked "f" (1901) on the reverse. Original ribbon, ornate oak leaf design on the pinback hanger, extremely fine.   Footnote: F.C. Henshaw is on record as being on the staff of the 3rd Battalion, Victoria Rifles of Canada (1888-1889) and was President of the Payne Consolidated Mining Company of Montreal. He was married to Maud MacDougall and had a daughter, Mary Henshaw.
