C. PLACE RIFLE Co); and Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration, Victoria (Lt. COL. R.W. BELL 57th Regt. Peterborough Rangers). Naming is engraved on both: the CGSM on the edge, the CAFOD on the reverse. Un-mounted, original ribbons, hangers with pinbacks, extremely fine.Footnote: Robert W. Bell was a bugler with the Carleton Place Rifle Company (No. 5 Company, 41st Battalion) when he was awarded his CGSM with the Fenian Raid 1866 clasp and was with the 41st Battalion (Brockville Rifles) when he was awarded his 1870 clasp and is listed on page 113 of the "Canada General Service Medal Roll, 1866-70" by John Thyen. He was with the 57th Regiment, Peterborough Rangers when he was awarded the CAFOD, Victoria, in 1902, for his time in the ranks.
