Falange Centuria San Jorge Alcoy Banner

Falange Centuria San Jorge Alcoy Banner - Extremely fine embroidery, exhibiting rich colours and intricate detail, obverse illustrating a multi-coloured Centurion on raised horseback hovering over two reclined figures, with highlights of gold bullion in the Centurion's helmet, wristband, brooch, belt buckles and leg guard, along with the horses's bridle, all the figures are outlined in black threading giving them tremendous definition, gold bullion lettering inscribed "Centuria San Jorge" above and "Alcoy" below the Centurion, on a light blue silk field, reverse with a black silk field flanked by red silk fields, the Falange insignia in raised red embroidery and outlined in gold bullion in the centre, the obverse and reverse fields are sewn back-to-back, giving the banner tremendous weight versus a regular banner, hoist sleeve with four square loops for insertion into a flagpole, the loops in the same colour scheme as the banner, two red ties above the top loop, 37 mm long gold bullion fringe on three sides, 705 mm x 720 mm, scattered fraying and soiling on the fields, wear evident on the top loop and one tie from active use, better than very fine. Accompanied by its flagpole top, silvered metal with an embedded brass coupling at the base, illustrating a Franco period Spanish coat-of-arms topped by a spike, 81 mm x 268 mm, light contact, severed at the base coupling, better than very fine.
