What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

A lot of badges, including an Order of the Red Star, constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of a five-pointed star with red enameled arms, the bottom bearing a sickle and hammer, overlaid by a central silvered medallion bearing a Red Army soldier circumscribed by a Cyrillic inscription of “ПРОЛЕТАРИИ ВСЕХ СТРАН, СОЕДИНЯЙТЕСЬ!” (“WORKERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!”) and initials “СССР” (“USSR”), the reverse maker marked with the logo of the State Mint, etched with an issue number of “1699542”, with a central threaded lug and backplate, measuring 50 mm (w) x 50 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; an Order of the Patriotic War, II Class, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of double-overlaid five-pointed star, the obverse with a red enameled star on top of a crossed sword and rifle. With a central raised sickle and hammer, within a ring of white enamel bearing a silvered Cyrillic inscription of “ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА” (“PATRIOTIC WAR”), the reverse maker marked with the logo of the State Mint, etched with an issue date of “1984”, with a central threaded lug and backplate, measuring 45 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), a late issue award in extremely fine condition, and; a cap badge, constructed of gilded bronze, the reverse with two lugs, unmarked, measuring 65 mm (w) x 52 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
