A South Africa & First War Group to the Worcester Regiment - Queen's South Africa Medal, 4 Clasps - CAPE COLONY, ORANGE FREE STATE, SOUTH AFRICA 1901, SOUTH AFRICA 1902 (5681 Pte J. BOURNE. WORCESTER REGt); British War Medal (21284 PTE. J. BOURNE. WORC. R.); and Victory Medal (21284 PTE. J. BOURNE. WORC. R.). Naming is officially impressed. Un-mounted, original ribbons, dark patina on the BWM, better than very fine. Accompanied by copies of his Index Cards and Service Records from the National Archives. Footnote: Private John Bourne served with the 2nd Battalion, Worcester Regiment in South Africa during the Boer War, the accompanying roll verifying his qualification for the four clasps indicated on the QSA. Again as a Private, Bourne served with the 3rd Battalion, Worcester Regiment in France and was discharged from service on July 24, 1917. He is also documented as having served with the Northampton Regiment. His WWI Index Card indicates that he qualified for the 1914-15 Star, BWM and VM.
