(Militärdienstkreuz für 25 Jahre der Unteroffiziere und Soldaten). Instituted 30 April 1841 by Grand Duke Paul Friedrich. (1841-1868 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with a central monogram of Grand Duke Paul Friedrich, the reverse with Roman numerals “XXV” (“25”), the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop connecting to a suspension ring with a period original tri-fold ribbon, unmarked, measuring 35.62 mm (w) x 39.72 mm (h), weighing 13.6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
